Re: FTB MFFS in nether (Server Discussion) Posted on 05 Jun : 13:12
Hi Discharge, I would really appreciate my stuff back thanks, please place it in a chest at spawn for me with my name on and I will pick it up.

I do have to disagree about your forcefield and base being obvious though, I was literally flying through the air over normal lava and saw no signs of a base, I was quite high up and bang I was dead with no warnings, at least none that I could react to in time. I would also disagree that a base covered in lava would be obvious, anything but obvious in the nether IMHO.

Yes I did grief your other pump base but to be honest it looked abandoned, it had lava flowing all over it as though someone has tried to grief it. I spent a good half hour clearing the lava and trying to salvage what was there, I was interested in some of the blocks I had not seen which in the end I could not break anyway. I even ended up accidently dropping most of what I had salvaged into lava so it was all for nothing anyway.

regards

Yes I totally understand that the nether is like hell but even hell should give the player a chance of survival... The thing I can see happening is that people will simply set up MFFS all over the nether making the place a completely no go area. IMO that is not a good thing.
Thread: FTB MFFS in nether (Server Discussion) Posted on 04 Jun : 21:06
A day ago I was flying around the nether on FTB looking for good ores to mine when BANG I am dead and I read messages that the area is protected and all my belongings have been confiscated. I then find out that it is a feature of FTB called modular force fields.

Now I understand the nether is a place where pvp and griefing are allowed, my own pump was griefed and I accepted it and I even joined the fun and had a go at griefing someone elses pump in retaliation although it had already been griefed when i got there as someone has covered it in lava (I assume to disable the Force Field somehow).

Anyway what I am getting at is that these force fields can be completely invisible and there is no defence against them and they can be placed anywhere so you never know if you're walking/flying towards one.

I lost a lot of good power armor, my best pick, sword and bow to something I had no chance of defeating, it seems a little pointless and unfair to not even allow someone a fighting chance.

I would like to suggest a rule change that MFFS be limited (no killing of other players, just blocking/warning and no stealing of possessions). The nether in FTB is very useful with many new ores unlike vanilla MC where only quartz is particularly useful so it seems mad to make it a place that essentially can't be explored because you never know when you might walk into an invisible instant death trap..
Re: [poll] Disable GregTech recipes on Feed the beast (Server Discussion) Posted on 06 May : 20:46
My favorite kind. Not that it matters, looks like people want to keep it the way it is. frown

I wanted to start a poll to find out how many would agree to having GregTech recipes disabled on FTB. I feel they are far to expensive and difficult. It is especially frustrating when you build something very expensive and it explodes simply because you used a pick on it and leaves nothing left. Please vote on this and maybe Broonie will listen and make this game much more enjoyable for us all.

That's a shame. frown oh well
Thread: Map download (Server Discussion) Posted on 18 Feb : 17:09
Just wondering if there is any chance of getting the current map to download so we can load it locally and explore all the places we cant explore now?

Maybe via torrent if the file is very big?
Re: Winter World (Server Discussion) Posted on 12 Feb : 16:19
In don't think there should be a cost to get there, seems to be enough potential to loose a lot of gear/xp without the need to pay with emeralds for the privilege (which are hardly abundant in themselves). I also think the shop should go back to gold, not sure why it was switched, makes the shop much less useful IMO. I had a load of gold in chests and now it is basically worthless.

Okay could not find any details on here yet about the new winter world, thought I would start a thread for people to discuss it.

Here is what I think I know about it

1. It's cold, you need light, if you don't have light you die.
2. If you get caught in a blizzard you go blind and die.
3. You die a lot .
4. No locks, kits or other bukkit stuff to help you not die.
5. When you die you return to Vanilla spawn?
6. It costs 50 Emerald to go there and die.

I haven't had the guts yet to go there and feel it is a little expensive considering how easy it is to die and would like to get more details before I dip my toe.

Anyone who has been there add more details please.

thanks
Thread: Vanilla map error (Server Discussion) Posted on 07 Feb : 17:13
I don't see any post about this but the map on this site for the vanilla server gives me the error "web files are not matched with plugin version: All files need to be same version (1.4-563) - try refreshing browser cache (shift-reload)"

I have tried this but no change and I get it in two different browsers, is anyone else getting this?
