Since upgrading to 1.8 I have obtained some Ender Pearls and I could not find any reason for them (for now). So after looking at the Minecraft Wiki I found out that there was no known reason for them. So my question is: What would you like the Ender Pearl to do? And if you like Why? Whether it be fun or useless I would like to see your ideas.

For me I would like it to be an item while holding the right mouse button it would bring all blocks/items (that aren't placed) to you and into your inventory. But the item would have a durability bar like tools.

I want it to stops the spawning of endermen within 100 blocks.

I would like it to be used like a lens to fabricate some form of telescope, so i can see beyond my normal "far" distance. would be great for seeking out food and safe locations etc.

I read on the wiki before that the pearls would stop endermen from attacking you. Apparently that wasn't true.

i did think of a crafting idea, 8 ender pearls surrounding a clock to make a time warper,i thought of 2 uses for it, you could use it to teleport a short distance with a cooldown, or you could set an area with left click, and teleport back to it with right click which in term deletes the area which you set. \o/

use it to make laserguns that run on redstone

I have my own hunch that it may somehow be used to take us to the "Heaven" zone that Notch is currently developing.

Ender-torch (We can never have too many torches ^^) Prevents endermen from 'griefing' within a certain area. Or something. Maybe a...Reverse torch thingy? Makes the area around it darker? Not sure it would have a use though... I do like the idea of a teleporter over short distance. Compass+enderpearls. Personally I dont think enderpearls have much use in their future. My freezer idea was better. (furnace that uses snowballs and water) Legit ice! \o/ And maybe ice cream (We have milk, sugar, cocoa beans, snow) ...I'm very off topic now O_O

I think it would be awesome if you could use ender pearls to increase the durability of your tool. Or make you be able to dig / mine faster for a short period of time. Something like that.

clock makes more sense because its a time warper squippy

Maybe if you get string and 6 pearls you can make some anal beads?
