Well this has been a fun roundabout of trials.
There are still a lot of errors being splashed to the server console but also our own consoles. Apparently DW20 isn't as complete for live updating as it's thought out to be.
Due to the recurring issues we're facing after the live update we're going to vote, for or against a map reset.
P.S. Thanks Bananagod, for putting up the other poll. Your enthusiasm to help is much appreciated.
What problems were there exactly? apart from the crash at squaffles base and the twilight which was buggy as hell anyway I haven't heard about any.

I'm torn on this... My base IS my temple but at the same time there are a few things that probably cant be sorted out without a full reset *grumble*
edit:
I'll vote yes this time, as it would mean a new dragon egg, fix the problem where the ender bees got deleted when my account got reset, the lag and several other things... I'm not happy to be losing work on my crazy big plans again, still hoping ill manage to finish one of my insane plans before a reset one day xD
It's gonna be a pain to find a place as good as this one... (905x905 free land with a village and a magic forest in the center 305x305.... preferably somewhere I don't have to put up cliff-warnings... and no taint within said perimeter... )
as there has been some opposing votes, i'll leave it till sunday for the community to decide.

If it has to happen I rather it does so quick, like ripping off a band aid ; ;
With the lag now gone, it's more 8-4ish since I still think an end reset would fix my other problems without heavily impacting everyone's progress. Can't revoke and revote though.
Still haven't gotten an answer to my question yet.
"What problems were there exactly? apart from the crash at squaffles base and the twilight which was buggy as hell anyway I haven't heard about any."
Because it seems we are going through a loop each time..
1.People find bugs.
2.Server gets updated to solve bugs but results in more bugs.
3.Map gets wiped which solves some bugs but makes people lose all their progress.
4.Repeat from step 1.
Unfortunately it's not just squaffles base. i mean besides twiligh which has proven to us that it can crash the server within 15 minutes of being in there.
1. collossus crashes
2. Random bugs with tinkers
3. Present chests corrupting chunks (not fully tested as i didn't want to risk it again)
4. Excessive lag for no apparent reason
5. Server console getting splashed with errors
6. Login failures and disconnects (repeated attemps to connect finally letting us in)
Most of the problems are discussed on the server after a restart is done but squaffles base wasn't the issue with the time outs the other night. It was actually a massive load of wither skeletons that were for some reason spawning on blocks other than netherbrick. There were literally hundreds of them spawning on stone from the ender pump created platforms (Which should not happen).
Most of the other issues can be lived with but any that affect the server quite as severely need to be dealt with. Normal issues can mostly be fixed with the auto restart or timed restart. But a lot of the ones we've been encountering have prevented the server from restarting.
I know it's a total PITA but unfortunately this is the problem with modded versions. At least Direwolf is releasing updates quite frequently to fix the issues compared to *cough* GregTech....
I do however wish that the live updates were a little more stable. This one seemed to cause quite a few issues for the backend server.
1. collossus crashes - as far as i can tell aren't fixed, even in single player, though that my be because in cheating stuff in... full-client crash
2. Random bugs with tinkers - The visual dupe has been there for many versions, and will be there for many to come I think, not sure what other bugs.
3. Present chests corrupting chunks (not fully tested as i didn't want to risk it again) - no idea about these
4. Excessive lag for no apparent reason - could be a memory leak, like in monster, but just less demanding of one. I only lagged with the skellies and if people are exploring.
5. Server console getting splashed with errors - as far as i can tell there's no ingame ramafications for the errors, but i understand they will make broonies life a lot harder.
6. Login failures and disconnects (repeated attemps to connect finally letting us in) - Have been there, so that's not really new =( Not sure what you guys did either but I only had them when the skellies were there and around certain bases while exploring. Particularly a white stone building with a lot of diagonal blocks. As for login failures, I might've had some once, but I don't have them daily, it might be a pc related thing, DW20 is pretty heavy.
sitting here ready and waiting for the map reset, got my plans all ready lets do this!

Yeah i agree Chista, there's a lot more going on and i'm hoping we can smooth it out to being like FTB ultimate was. It had it's occasional glitches and stalls but it was for the most part very stable.
After clearing the wither skels "time outs", the seemed to clear up but it kept happening the next again day for about 2 hours.
I checked all that we thought was the cause but unfortunately there was nothing.
It seemed to clear up after a while but it took longer than it would for a chunk to despawn and i was the only one online.
It's probably the usual...
DireWolf: "People screaming at me for an update so i throw one out and get more complaints"
Instead of actually ironing out the bugs before a release.
As far as things like the colossus goes, i really wish modders would NOT activate half finished ideas like that until it was actually functioning properly.
Ah i had no idea about that, thanks for the update Chista. There was however no fortress nearby but the fact that they can spawn on blocks other than netherbrick now makes sense.
It does rarely happen that nether forts are messed up by the terrain gen in dw20. I think it may have to do with the nether biomes. Making chunks think there should be a fortress in them but the biome possibly overwriting it ( i did see skellies in a jungle biome with no visible fort a few times)
LOL that's pretty damned random for sure. I'll keep my eye out for problems like that again.
