Hi there, I'm Jack, most of you around here know me from FTB Ultimate and more recently our Vanilla server. I've been a member for almost two years but recently I've been gone quite a bit due to work and other life issues but I'm back now and I have a new member that I'm going to be bringing to the server, my brother.

Now the reason I'm making this post is my brother has a unique situation, he has Ewing Sarcoma, here is a link to it for those interested: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ewing%27s_sarcoma and he lives with my mother across the US, about 1500 miles away so obviously this is an easy way for us to play together and talk since I can't be there. He is 8 years old and has been undergoing treatment since he was 7 and alot of things affect him, his memory isn't as good as it should be, he can be very emotional at times although this is usually in his home life.

I want members to understand his situation so that if he strays from the rules, which I'll be going over the basic do's and don'ts of the server, that he could have forgotten and to not take it to heart if he breaks something or otherwise violates a rule, though I know, as will he, that he can and will be punished if he can't follow the rules set forth but I ask for a little understanding and patience given his situation.

I understand that CFUK generally has older members and that this may not be the ideal environment for my brother but this is the only server I have to play with him on unless I buy my own, if he does start playing on here and something happens please let me know about it.

I don't really foresee a problem but just want to let everyone know beforehand in case something came up. His IGN is Dallordoffire, if you see him please, I ask you to treat him nicely, if he breaks something that he didn't understand let me know and I'll rebuild it, pay for mats etc.

For Staff and all others I can be reached at the Skype: solidus670, the Teamspeak we have and I also have a mobile and if needed I can provide.

Thank you all for your time in reading this.

Hey Jack, One of my friends had a sister with the same issue while she played. What he did for MC was to put stickers around the monitor for example.

"Is it yours? then dont break it"
"Ask before you take that"
etc .

The other thing was to get her to read the server rules each time she started up to play.

It didn't always help but he felt that his sister improved greatly when playing on the server, maybe something like that can be used. Regardless, thanks for letting us know and we'll try to be as patient as possible. Just remember that we do still have to uphold the rules so work with your brother as much as you can and maybe after playing for a while he'll slowly keep more multiplayer etiquette in his long term memory.

i'm not on much atm due to moving house etc but say "welcome to CFUK" to him for me tongue

OK no problem Jack - will keep my eyes peeled for him. As Draze said, we still have to uphold the rules, but I'll be sure to give him plenty of verbal warnings before an actual one is applied (i.e. if he just goes nuts and wont stop).

One last thing, players on this server should be 13 years old or older. Younger players are permitted, as long as their parents have given permission for them to play by informing Broonie wink

Thanks guys, I appreciate the understanding, he's starting his treatment again so he won't be on for awhile but I'll try to be on when he is most of the time, if only I had a work from home job lol

To be honest, i think most of us would love a "work from home" Job.

"Hey! i'm working in my PJ's and do i care? Nuuuupe! bwhahahaha"

If we all got work from home jobs, we'd end up like ...

Personally I like my "hands-on" job (though the offshore survival training I'm currently doing is tiring and not fun!)

Work at home isn't all it's made out to be. You do miss out on office stuff.

I live in Sardinia on the side of a mountain just 15 mins from one of the most gorgeous beaches in the Mediterranean. Believe me I don't miss "office stuff" one bit. smile
