Damage landing on ladders
SpinDreams, Sat Apr 12 2014, 02:52PMWhy on CF do you get fall damage when you land on a ladder? I always thought you could drop any height onto a ladder and not get fall damage, the MC wiki says so and in tests in a local game this is the case but not on CF.
Have you moded the game to cause ladders to give fall damage? or is this a bug?
If a mod would it be possible to remove it and put it back to vanilla as it should be?

It really depends. The wiki is updated to MC1.7.8, as we're on 1.7.4 there may have been a ladder bug in that version.
I've come to expect things like this contrary to the wiki though. Most of the time i've found some of the information untrue to certain enviroments such as SMP or SP.

I have been researching this and one suggestion has been that the server could be running No Cheat Plus plugin. If so you have to turn off the fall damage detect in the config to fix the issue.

Or, you could just build ladders upto where you're falling from. Let's face it - IRL if you fell from a height and caught a ladder - it'd probably rip both your arms off! :S

Not much help when you are playing king of the ladder.
Luckily there is an alternative, I have replaced ladders with vines which don't give you damage, they also self repair which is cool too.
