one thing to what out for though is:

The status of 1.8 is that everything looks good, except the reports of performance problems and out of memory crashes. Those are scary =(

no no i dont think we'll be going live with this.. there are still issues and of course Bukkit needs to catch up.

I reckon Broonie will only be updating the Test Server

For some reason I cant get on to the Regular server. It says its outdated >.<

Arouka, the regular server is still in 1.7. If you already upgraded to 1.8, the regular server won't let you in. Try going on the test server.

regualr server i believe will now be 1.8 unless i've misunderstood something.
