Underwater city

, Sat Sep 10 2011, 10:53PM

When 1.8 comes out. I've been thinking about building an underwater city for use of anyone who wants to live there.
Unfortunatly its quite a big build and due to me going away im going to have limited time to build all by myself.

Kahr has already expressed an interest in creating such a place.

Just an idea in the making at the moment and i dont want to impose on person's underground city, but we could potentially get them to connect.

but like a said its just an idea at the moment and i was just wanting to see what peoples interest is in such a project.

Actually i dont mind connecting it but you will also have to ask Zeris if you want it connected(since we are both co-founders and rulers of the city)

Well the underwater city is under construction at the moment.

The only bit done on it so far is the main enterance and the first corridor and i will continue to work on it throughout the rest of today.
Unfortunaly due to college ill have to continue work on it next weekend, so ill see people then.

Just as an update.
having problems with expanding the city due to under water ridges which are too big to clear without it taking years to do so.
Have tried raising the extensions of the city, but to clear the ridges they're 1 block below the surface :/

Unfortunatly if i cant find a way around this the city wont be able to expand any further, mabe only just minor things frown

Sorry for those who maay have wanted to build at some point in the future
Re: Underwater city

Re: Underwater city
, Thu Nov 10 2011, 02:50PM

Sorry for the late reply. I have only phone internet here at college.
Theres no easy way to help powelly unfortunatly. The underwater ridges are just too big.
Ill try and post some screen shots when i get back tomorrow.

If you want to have a look anyway go west out ofspawn towards the trailer park. When you reach the T junctuion head north and folow the signs. Its at the very end of the North Road.

Umm could there be a use for tnt placed inside the ridge, it would only destroy the ridge as the water would cushion it, an idea maybe?

I remember when you were building an underwater city on the old map next to my fort. It was pretty cool and looked like a lot of work. I'd be happy to help as well.

QOTSA, geuis and I cleared a whole bunch of seabed to make our underwater dome. A little ridge shouldn't slow you down wink
Re: Underwater city
, Fri Nov 11 2011, 10:21PM

yeah well there was 2 of you tongue
where you doing actually in the water? if so youd know why im moaning about this cheesey
Re: Underwater city
nand, Sun Nov 13 2011, 08:26PM

For the most part we were mining underground and then clearing away the ceiling to expose the dome to the ocean. There was some work required on the sea bed so yes I do know what a pain it can be.
