I can now safely say our server is back to a stable condition after this weeks hell. It hasn't been easy but I'm sure we're all glad that the server is back. Unfortuantly there has been a couple of problems with surely you have already noticed. But its the best we could do for now.
We've had a small number of issues this week, one being practically major involving the whole server going down.

It started off for myself requesting the server to be upgraded since we were growing, I asked for a little more RAM, and some a little more processing power. It all went smooth payment wise until the next morning, the upgrades weren't applied. Upon being asked to reboot the server, internet connectivity was lost.

After a string of 3 days trying to get the server back online, trying everything from changing TCP / IP settings to re-imaging the server, I could not get internet access to the outside world.

Unfortuantly, I also couldn't connect via FTP to back-up the required files simply due the internet loss. All I had at my power was a console command line going through the default gateway of the server.

After days and days of being told it was a software problem. I had no choice but to do a fresh install of the OS on the server, I did this. And the issue still wasn't resolved.

The 'amazing' support team then decided to replace the whole server, meaning yes, we've got a shiny new box, but on the other hand, we've lost everything on our old one.

I do apologise for having a lack of a new backup, the newest one I had dated back to the 31st October, hardly efficient.

Changes are coming this time around, backups will be done weekly, and we'll try not to apply for new upgrades. I can only thank you for your patience in the matter.

In other news, I'd like to thank you for the surge in donations recently, you're helping to keep the server going! I love you guys!

Time some updates!

First of all, I like to give some personal thanks to the following users:

Couple of changes to the server this week, firstly the most noticeable is the huge popular increase in server activity. Possibly due to the fact that we've enabled guestmode again! This means that the server might get a little bit more full, however we're increasing our server space to try help cope with it.

The right click issue is fixed now also (thanks Aconan!) this means you can right click empty handed without caution, turns out the fault was an incorrectly ported version of the hey0 mod. All is fixed now however.

We've also added a few homegrown modifcations to the server, we've got a plugin to tell guests how to register now, should calm down things a little. And a little surprise plugin for the mods just now as a tester, /explode.

We've added some town forums aswell, soon as I've finished this, I'll work on getting the custom mods for each forum on. Shouldn't take too long and should be done quite quickly.

New feature too! Clantags and colours! Pretty easy to use, only if your a donator though. Check out Minecraft Settings -> Colours and Clans.

Couple of secret things planned for next week too. Keep an eye out!

Not much to update this week on CF | UK;

First of all I'd like to thank Kyn.A.N. for his donation , thank you!

Couple of changes over the past week, scripts have been updated to improve stability a little, and I am now working on something to enable guest access to the server, as well as customised clan tags and everything else.

Its going to be great when its done, but its a big project, so bear with me

Couple of changes this week, in the way of that not much else to discuss.

Servers been updated with the latest .jar file availabile to us, this has seemed to reduce the crashes and the huuuuge memory leaks. Which is great for us cause it means more uptime, more playtime, and more fun. Woo!

Also got a new feature or two to play with this week, we've got a fully working server auto-restarter up and running. Which is currently set to restart every 6 hours, once Notch releases more stable code, we're looking to update this to at least 12 hours, then 24 hours. On top of this, a referral system is now in place, as well as an objective to become top poster! This will allow you to gain access to the 'special' class, which will give you a little advantage over the regular users. So what you waiting for? Look at the dedicated topic in the forum now!

Also, in other personal news, I currently don't have a job but I am working on getting a steady source of income once again. I'd like to thank the donators who are helping me out here, without your funds we could of been in a bit of trouble. Thanks again!

Couple of updates that have happened so far:
1 - New Map
We've reset the map to complete the Halloween upgrade. This will be the last map reset hopefully, unless Notch does something in which we are forced to reset again.
I'll upload back up copies of each map next time I'm in college, as theres a nice upload speed there.
2 - Semi Private
We are officialy semi-private now, that means you need to register on the website and click Link Account before you can log in. This has always been a unique feature on CF | UK and will continue to be one.
3 - Server Restarter
We now have a official server restarter in place, it will restart the server every 6 hours or so. This is due to the 'fail-o-ween' update causing rocketing CPU usage due to Notchs 'quickfix' to the light system. Bad Notch! Bad!

Just a reminder to all users that we're going semi-private tomorrow. Please remember to link your account. If you haven't, you will not have access to the server until you do.

So from the downtime last night and the short period of work this morning, I can now say the server is officialy back online for the time being.

They has been a couple of errors because of this though, and I will be looking into it. Advance warning of any restarts will be given in-game throughout the day.
